At the recently concluded annual brand meeting, Volkswagen pulled the wraps off the concept iteration of the Virtus sedan, dubbed the GT Plus Sport This sleek model was unveiled alongside the Tigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport trims . . . . Let’s dig deeper into this particular sedan variant.
Exterior
The Virtus GT Plus Sport boasts a host of cosmetic upgrades compared to its standard counterparts. It features LED smoked headlights, an eye-catching red GT badge, gray carbon steel roof, striking red brake calipers and attractive 16-inch chrome door handles in gloss black has been -Rolling on alloy wheels, it emits a distinct sporty vibe. Additionally, black accents adorn the ORVM, bumper inserts and spoiler, adding to its aggressive stance.
Interior
Inside, Volkswagen maintains a sporty appeal with a consistent black theme for the Virtus GT Plus Sport. The cabin boasts black leather upholstery with gray upholstery and a matching black headliner. The grab handle, ceiling light housing and sunhole also sport a smooth black finish. Completing the sporty ambience are aluminum pedals and a sports steering wheel with gray stitching.
Engine and gearbox
Under the hood, the Virtus packs a punch with the GT Plus Sport’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which churns out 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. It offers adjustments such as a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
Launch timeline
During the unveiling, Volkswagen revealed various specifications of the upcoming Taigun GT Sport. However, while the SUV is scheduled to be launched next month, the automaker is yet to reveal a timetable for the Virtus GT Plus.
